About
Wine, without the performance.
Feeling Vine is an independent wine publication and recommendation tool built to help you understand what you like, find bottles worth drinking and learn about wine without needing to know the language first.
Why I started Feeling Vine
I started Feeling Vine because wine is full of things worth knowing, but the way it is explained can make curiosity feel like a test.
I wanted to build something that starts somewhere more useful: what you actually enjoy drinking, what you are curious about and what you might genuinely want to open next.
Feeling Vine is an attempt to make wine easier to navigate without making it less interesting.
What Feeling Vine is building
Feeling Vine combines an editorial publication and wine reference with tools designed to help you decide what to drink next.
Learn explains the ideas behind wine. Guides help with real decisions. Grapes and Places are practical references. The Journal looks at the people, culture and forces shaping what we drink. Find a Bottle turns that understanding towards specific bottles.
The aim is not to give you more wine information. It is to make the information that matters easier to use.
How we decide what to trust
Research, tasting and recommendation are different forms of evidence, and Feeling Vine does not treat them as interchangeable.
A researched profile of a grape or region is not a judgement on a particular bottle. Tasting something is not automatically the same as recommending it. And a recommendation should mean more than filling an empty space on a page.
When the evidence is not strong enough, the better answer can be a shorter one.
Independence
Nobody can pay to be recommended by Feeling Vine or to rank higher in a recommendation.
Feeling Vine may earn money in future through retailer links, partnerships or clearly labelled sponsored work. Those relationships will be disclosed and kept separate from editorial judgement and recommendation decisions.
Samples may be accepted, but receiving a bottle will never guarantee coverage or recommendation.
Founder-led
Feeling Vine is founder-led. I am building the publication, its recommendation system and its editorial point of view together, rather than treating the writing as content wrapped around a recommendation tool.
That also means the project can change as the evidence changes. If something is wrong, it should be corrected. If a better way of explaining or recommending wine emerges, the system should improve with it.
